All About Christina

Success - It is not the position where you are standing, but which direction you are going. ~ Oliver W. Holmes

Hello, I'm Christina.

I grew up in a small suburb in rural Parkton just outside of Fayetteville, NC. Since I can remember I've always had a passion for three interests that has shaped me into the woman I am today.
First, since the time I could reach a computer keyboard I've been consumed with a love for all technology. Since 2002 when MySpace became a huge hit, I began teaching myself how to write and design HTML/CSS codes for web page design and development in my spare time. Today I like to stay on top of the newest breaking tech trends and apps hitting the market. Nothing beats getting the latest tech before it even hits the shelves in stores.
Easily my second biggest passion is my writing. I wrote my first novel in the 4th grade and since then haven't stopped. As I've grown older my writing portfolio has begun to include more and more non-fiction pieces, reflecting me as a more serious writer. My first published writing was a news article was during my Junior year at Lakewood High School for our school section in the Sampson Independent. Since then I've been published numerous times by my university newspaper, The East Carolinian. I have worked as Copy Chief where I have taken off my journalist shoes and slid on my editor glasses. I also worked at Innerbanks Media where I ran NASCAR races every weekend for Thunder Country 96.3.
My third, not to be mistaken as any less better, passion in life is my insatiable appetite for knowledge and reading. I suppose it's the writer in me that goes hand in hand with my constant need for reading as well as my love of learning. I've always enjoyed being a student and treat it as a lifestyle and job rather than an annoyance or necessity.
I am currently in my fifth year of attendance at East Carolina University located in Greenville, North Carolina. I am a dedicated Communication major with a deep love for Journalism and Media Studies. I aspire to move on to get my doctorate in Communication so I may return to Greenville and teach at a university level within the communication field of study.
